It is the most wonderful time of the year but it’s busy isn’t it? Shopping, wrapping, baking, cooking, recitals, parties, family gatherings, cleaning, Christmas programs and on and on. In the middle of it all, we are all doing our regular jobs, walking the dog, and trying to keep a good balance to stay healthy and enjoy the season. I am thankful for the busy part as it means my life as an author is fruitful. It is my gift to the children and adults I present to in schools, libraries, conferences and many other locations. Yesterday was my 30th author event since September and my final one before Christmas. It was my Very Hairy Story Time in a library. After a reading of Claire’s Hair, children of all sizes had fun trying on the costume wigs-there were mad scientists, Poppy Trolls, Claire’s Hair! and even blue punk hair. I heard giggles and saw smiles. Small and beautiful moments to treasure in the middle of the chaos and busy time we live in. I hope you find that small moment this week to treasure.
